Caravela is a old staple in Gabs located near the Main Mall area in the middle of a residential area. A little hard to find but turn left just after the Kodak shop and follow the signs right and then left. We like the outdoor seating area with umbrellas, coloured lights and trees it feels like a holiday! The tables and chairs used to let the place down making it feel a bit too informal, but recent new chairs have made the outdoor seating more comfortable. Good food, good service and nice surroundings (once you find it) if not a little over priced now that there is a lot more competition in Gabs. A good selection of dishes and I have not been disappointed yet (but don’t order the garlic bread its poor value and not very nice). Good for steaks and obviously the Portuguese dishes and the Kingklip is good too.
